Fito Plus was built on a simple belief: local businesses should uplift local businesses.
From our formulations to our packaging, labels, printing and suppliers, we intentionally partner with South African producers wherever possible. By choosing local over large multinational corporations, we reduce unnecessary transport emissions, strengthen our local economy, and help move away from cheap, mass-produced products that often come at a hidden cost.

Why We Do What We Do: Protecting People and the Planet

Mainstream cleaning products may clean your home, but many also carry consequences—for both your health and the environment. Conventional formulas often contain harsh chemicals, non-biodegradable compounds, endocrine disruptors, VOCs, and surfactants that persist in water systems. These substances can irritate skin and lungs, trigger allergies, damage aquatic ecosystems, and accumulate in soil and waterways long after they’ve been washed down the drain.

Fito Plus was created as the safer alternative. Our cleaning solutions use plant-based ingredients and beneficial biological cultures that work with nature, not against it. They break down naturally, pose no harm to waterways, and are gentle on your skin, your home, and the environment.

Eco-Friendly & Biodegradable — How We Prove It

We believe sustainability must be verifiable, not just claimed. To ensure our products are genuinely eco-friendly and biodegradable, we:

• Use readily biodegradable ingredients that meet international biodegradability standards.

• Source raw materials from suppliers who provide biodegradation test reports, safety data sheets (SDS), and environmental certifications where applicable.

• Avoid ingredients known for persistence or toxicity to aquatic life.

• Formulate according to global green chemistry principles and EU-aligned guidelines for environmentally responsible cleaning agents.

 

Packaging With Purpose

Sustainability doesn’t end with the formula — it extends to the bottle it comes in.

• 75% of all Fito Plus containers are made from 100% recycled HDPE

• 95% of our total packaging is recyclable

   

Why Does This Matter?

Because packaging is one of the largest contributors to global plastic pollution. Using recycled and recyclable materials:

• Reduces demand for new (virgin) plastic, lowering fossil fuel use

• Cuts CO₂ emissions associated with plastic manufacturing
